In her Glamour magazine interview with Anne Fletcher, the director of Sandra Bullock’s latest film The Proposal, Bullock revealed that she was supposedly “no longer doing [romantic comedies].” But when The Proposal came along, she couldn’t pass it up. She remembers, “I read the script and was pissed because I liked it so much…It was so aggravating because every element of the film seemed right.”
So does this mean that The Proposal was Bullock’s last chick flick? Maybe. And if so, we are certainly going to miss her. She has starred in such rom-com hits as Miss Congeniality, Miss Congeniality 2 and Two Week Notice. She is genuine and certainly not afraid to put herself out there for the whole world to see.
Her nude scene in The Proposal has been receiving a lot of attention lately. In the interview, Fletcher brings this up, discussing how willing Bullock and co-star Ryan Reynolds were when it came to filming the scene. They didn’t even rehearse it!
Regarding the scene, Bullock says, “You know why I looked hot? Because everyone was looking at Ryan. Our stuff was hanging in each other’s faces, and we didn’t care.” And that’s Sandy for you. She doesn’t care what she looks like as long as she gets a laugh out of it. And she sure as heck does–every time.

Sandra Bullock achieved her first No. 1 movie in 10 years at the weekend box-office as moviegoers across the United States and Canada said yes to The Proposal, which also marked her biggest opening
The Walt Disney Co romantic comedy sold an estimated $34.1 mn worth of tickets during the three-day period beginning June 19.
“It definitely met and exceeded our expectations,” said Mark Zoradi, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group. “In a summer with a lot of sequels, it’s always nice to have an original movie.”
The Proposal also earned $10 mn from 10 foreign markets, with No. 1 bows in Australia ($3.3 mn) and Russia ($2.8 mn) leading the way.
Bullock last went to No. 1 in North America with the 1999 film Forces Of Nature, which co-starred Ben Affleck. Her previous best opening was $17.6 mn for her most recent film, Premonition, in March 2007.
The 44-year-old actress stars as a book-executive who fakes an engagement to her lowly assistant (Ryan Reynolds) to avoid deportation to her native Canada. The laughs ensue when she meets his parents, veteran Betty White stealing the show. Anne Fletcher (27 Dresses) directed. Disney declined to reveal the budget.
Critics’ reviews were mixed, but exit surveys were strong, Disney said. Men accounted for 37 per cent of the audience, a surprisingly large turnout for a romantic comedy.
Its reign likely will be short-lived, though, with Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen opening worldwide on Wednesday through Viacom Inc’s Paramount Pictures.
